Our School Ethos and Values
Catholic Lives
Our values and ethos
As a Catholic School, our school virtues and values are derived from the Gospel and the teachings of Christ. This year, we are exploring the taught values within the Parable of the Sower. We consider what type of soil we want to be and what we need in our own soil to grow as seeds in God's creation. These permeate all aspects of life at our school for every member of the school community. The following values guide and underpin all our relationships, actions and decisions.
Our school-wide values are Love, patience, respect, resilience and kindness.
Equity and Diversity
At St Augustine's, we celebrate our differences and believe in making sure that everyone has access to the same opportunities, regardless of their barriers. Find our policies here.
Year 6 learn about this in Term 2: ask someone in the class about the plaster lesson!
Celebrating diversity
One of our parents at St Augustine’s Hythe entered a competition to win a wonderful set of books written by authors of colour and celebrating characters and heroes of colour.
Here are some of our children enjoying our new books, which are now to be found in our class libraries and school Treetops Library.
